Jensen as you know has been on an ECMO machine which pumps, warms and oxygenates the blood. He is also on a medicine that paralyzes him so he doesn't move (Cisatracurium). Since he has tubes and wires everywhere, there is no place to move anyway. The main goal over the weekend was to get him off the ECMO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extracorporeal_membrane_oxygenation
The setting has been as high as 400 and over the night they got him down to 150. He still has quite a bit of internal bleeding, which they are replacing with blood as needed. He is on anti-coagulants as is routine with such a surgery.
Somewhere around 7 or 8 this morning they took him off the ECMO, which was about two hours from my writing. Since then, his heart has been on it's own and doing OK. His blood oxygen saturation has fallen some, but is still acceptable. He is still on a ventilator.

His Story
God was gracious, Jensen Richard Reilly was born on February 11 in the late afternoon. He was full term and weighed 7 lbs and 9 oz., 21" long. Just a few weeks before Jensen was born, he was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect (Ebstein's anomaly). Plans were made for Anna to deliver at IU Hospital. Imediately after birth, Jensen was stabilized and under the watchful guidance of a proud father, Jeff, he was rolled via walkway to the Riley Children's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This blog was created to keep our family and friends updated so we can have as many people praying for Jensen's needs as possible.

Eb & Wanda,
We missed you at Nathanael's birthday party yesterday - However, we understand how life's priorities can place us in circumstances which tap upon what we: 'Need' Vs. 'Want' to do ... As for the party, Nathanael & his buddies had a great time! The 'Limo'. Pinyata & Cake were very interesting to say the least ** And, it was great seeing Jessica - As for 'Joe-Joe' he's a kick & really smart/'quick study'...
