Off the vent!

Early yesterday afternoon Jensen was taken off the vent. He is breathing on his own finally. He did have a day in NICU when he wasn't on the vent, but he is doing much better now. I suppose you are thinking "what is the tube situation?"; OK, I will tell you. He still has the central line, an IV in his hand, oxygen in his nose, and unfortunately he still has a tiny tube down his throat. The nurses are monitoring his input and output closely, and he has been losing excess fluid volume. In other words the swelling has been going down, and his face especially is looking much more handsome. Jensen has been all wrapped up in a blanket, and holdable kissable, but not hugable yet, (too fragile). It's a beautiful thing to see him being held.

This week they are talking about moving him back to NICU, and taking a closer look at his valves now that he is more stable. Thanks for your continued prayers.
