Monday night

We just returned home from visiting Jensen. He is mildly sedated, and is on the ventilator again, but we held his hands while we prayed for him and he still responded somewhat. Now that they have the central line in, they have removed all the IV's except for the ART line in his naval. That means both those IV's in the top of his head are out. I doubt he was worrying about them, but they weren't very photogenic.

He is scheduled for a heart cath tomorrow. The will be placing the stent in the ductus arteriosus. Jeff said the doctor told him that the stent is the same as they put in adults. In Adults they put them in the coronary arteries (feed the heart muscle) which are evidently about the same size as this ductus. It sure beats me how they do this on such a small body. The IV tubing is about the size of the lead in a #2 pencil. The central line is a little bigger, about the size of a cooked spaghetti. Jeff said it will take about three hours. It is supposed to start at 1pm.

I know Jensen is on our mind constantly, and yours too. Thank you all so much for praying and caring. Focus your prayers tomorrow on the procedure, and of course peace and strength for Jeff and Anna.
